ABOUT NACW

The Climate Action Reserve is pleased to present the North American Carbon World (NACW) conference. NACW addresses the most pressing issues in climate policy and carbon markets to the largest gathering of climate professionals in North America. The conference features comprehensive and up-to-date information, key thought-leaders advancing innovative climate solutions, and the best networking opportunities with colleagues in the business, government, nonprofit, and academic sectors.

In its 17th consecutive year, NACW 2019 will explore the progress of climate policy, carbon markets, and climate finance in North America and around the globe. By understanding emerging and dynamic trends  and building collaborative relationships with an expansive network of climate professionals, attendees will learn how to successfully meet the challenge of a carbon-constrained economy. For all of these reasons and more, NACW has long been considered the must-attend event of the year for climate policy and carbon markets.

ABOUT THE CLIMATE ACTION RESERVE

The Climate Action Reserve is a pioneer in carbon accounting and the most experienced, trusted, and efficient offset registry to serve the carbon markets. With deep roots in California and a reach across North America, the Reserve encourages actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and works to ensure environmental benefit, integrity, and transparency in market-based solutions to address global climate change. It serves the California compliance market as an Offset Project Registry and has played an integral role in the development and administration of the state’s cap-and-trade program. For the voluntary market, the Reserve establishes high quality standards for carbon offset projects, oversees independent third-party verification bodies and issues and tracks the transaction of carbon credits (Climate Reserve Tonnes) generated from such projects in a transparent, publicly-accessible system.

Drawing from its experience and expertise in GHG accounting, the Reserve launched the Climate Impact Score program to quantify and assess the climate impact of projects financed by investments and the GHG Mitigation Registry to foster proactive investment in future GHG reduction projects as a means to address emissions that are forecasted to occur.

The Climate Action Reserve is a private 501(c)3 nonprofit organization headquartered in Los Angeles, California.
