Kelli McCune
Project Director, Conservation Incentives, Sustainable Conservation

Kelli develops conservation incentives as a key part in ensuring that California landowners are rewarded for their natural resources stewardship because the outcomes benefit us all. Her work entails finding new ways to reward landowners for water supply reliability and water quality improvements by doing groundwater recharge and optimizing irrigation and nitrogen use efficiency, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions on dairies via manure management practices and technologies. She also engages corporations in helping solve environmental challenges that impact California’s agricultural industry.

Prior to joining Sustainable Conservation in 2009, Kelli worked for the Bureau of Land Management in California and southeast Arizona, assisting with the management of a variety of species conservation and habitat restoration projects. Kelli received her master’s degree from the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at UC Santa Barbara, and she holds a BA in environmental science and Spanish from Northern Michigan University. Kelli is also a Kinship Conservation Fellow.
