Spencer Reeder is director of Government Affairs at Audi of America, appointed in August 2018. In his position, Reeder is responsible for leading the Audi U.S. public policy voice on zero-emissions vehicles (ZEVs), including battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell technology, and associated infrastructure.

Reeder joins Audi from Vulcan, Inc. in Seattle, Washington, where he was director of the Climate and Energy Program, and led Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen’s global philanthropic investments in climate-, energy-, and transportation-related issues, including the Smart City Challenge, developed and implemented in partnership with the U.S. Department of Transportation. Reeder was a lead author on the 2014 U.S. National Climate Assessment and earlier served as Lead Policy Strategist for Climate Change at the Washington State Department of Ecology during Governor Christine Gregoire’s administration. He has also held research and engineering roles with The Boeing Company, focusing on advanced aerospace materials and was twice selected as a finalist for NASA’s astronaut program.

Reeder holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from University of Washington and a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering Sciences from University of Colorado.
