David Shoch

David Shoch

David is a forester with nearly 20 years of experience worldwide in the development of forest carbon projects. He has contributed to seminal publications of the IPCC, GOFC-GOLD and Verified Carbon Standard, and has authored methodologies for accounting climate impacts of REDD, reduced impact logging, improved forest management and wetland restoration activities. Prior to joining TerraCarbon, David worked for The Nature Conservancy’s climate science team and Winrock International. David holds a Master of Forestry degree from the Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment and a BA in Biology from the University of Richmond. He is a member of the Forest Stewards Guild and is a Certified Forester by the Society of American Foresters.
